We are happy to announce we will be putting an exciting new spin on our buccaneering visitor experience to ensure we can safely re-open in time for the May Half Term Holidays.
Our pirate crew has been hard at work throughout lockdown, transforming the indoor attraction with the addition of a fun, pop up golf adventure.
Our team are hoping the new feature will help get us out of the rough and let visitors enjoy safe, socially-distanced family fun once lockdown restrictions are eased.
“The last year has been incredibly challenging for all of us and there were times when we really weren’t sure if we would ever be able to re-open,” said Pirate’s Quest’s Nikki Smith.
“The enforced shutdown did give us a lot of time to think and plan how we could still provide our visitors with an amazing experience while ensuring they still felt safe.
“We came up with the idea of adding a fun, pirate-themed adventure golf element because it will still allow family groups to enjoy all the key features of Pirate’s Quest while also ensuring they can remain socially distanced,” she added.
On entry, piratical players will receive a treasure map and set off on an adventure through Cornwall’s myths and legends armed with a sanitised golf club, instead of a sword.
All of our most popular features, including the scare zone, remain and visitors will have glowing golf balls in the spookier sections of the visit.
Video screens will take the place of live actors, although it is hoped there will still be an opportunity for visitors to meet a member of the pirate crew during school holidays.
Pirate’s Quest is a unique, fun, family experience in the heart of Newquay which combines amazing special effects and detailed 360⁰ sets in an authentic, fully immersive, walk-through experience.
