To collect research for his ‘Captain’s Blog’, Calico Jack recently embarked on a voyage around Cornwall. With his trusty sidekick, Alice, Captain Jack visited some of the County’s historical landmarks and locations of mythical interest.
The Road Trip began on a blustery morning in Camborne. The two set off to Penzance in order to take a peek at St Michael’s Mount – legend has it that giants once lived there! After viewing the magnificent Mount through his telescope, ‘Calico’ then plotted a route to Towednack, the Home of Betty Stogs.
Along the journey, the Pirate’s Quest duo braved the epic weather to find the Men-an-tol, and passed by the Mermaid hotspot of Zennor. After a short stop a Towednack it was time for a spot of lunch, then onwards to Portreath – home to another giant.
The familiar town of Newquay was next on the list, with a visit to Huer’s Hut and enough time to take in the beautiful view of Newquay Harbour.
Eventually the Captain and his companion arrived at their final destination, Trevose Head, to take in the spectacular view before the sun began to set. Part Two of ‘Calico’ Jack’s Road Trip will be coming soon…
