Blackbeard’s Bank Holiday Weekend!

Don’t miss Blackbeard’s Bank Holiday Weekend, from 29 April – 1 May, at Pirate’s Quest Newquay.

For one weekend only, the most infamous pirate to ever sail the seven seas will be stepping aboard Pirate’s Quest. Visitors will be able to meet the notorious Captain Blackbeard as he takes over the attraction this May Bank Holiday.

On this special piratical walk-through experience visitors will be transported back almost 300 years, with Blackbeard alongside. They’ll begin their adventure on board a Pirate Hunter’s Ship called the ‘Royal Anne’ – a vessel that left England in 1721 with the intention of sailing to the Caribbean, but wrecked off the South Coast of Cornwall.

Captain Blackbeard and his LIVE pirate crew will rescue visitors from the sinking Royal Anne, escorting them through a secret passageway, and then acting as a guide through several detailed sets and scenes – a chance to explore the mystical caves and murky streets of eighteenth century Cornwall, but don’t dawdle, the pirate hunters are hot on the trail!

After arriving at Towan Blystra Docks, visitors will be invited into the local tavern named after Captain Blackbeard, before deciding whether they’re brave enough to enter the optional scare section, The Locker of Davy Jones. Eventually you’ll arrive at the Ship, ready to set sail with Blackbeard’s crew.

The authentic pirates are brought to life by talented theatrical actors, who are guaranteed to make this a unique and memorable experience – a rare opportunity for all ages to learn something new about piracy, and experience the REAL life of a seafarer during the ‘Golden Age of Pirates’.

Blackbeard is only in port for the Bank Holiday, so see him before he’s gone!
